Frank Lampard Announces Post-Season Break Following Chelsea’s Disappointing Finish

Interim manager of Chelsea Football Club, Frank Lampard, has made known his intention to take a short break after the expiration of his temporary contract with the club. Lampard who is a former Chelsea player, was summoned to the Stamford Bridge club after Graham Potter was removed from the role but failed to impress as the club ended up finishing in 12th place, closer to relegation than the Champions League places.

Speaking to reporters after the club’s last game, Lampard revealed his plans: “I’ll have a break, it has been quite intense. I wasn’t in that mode, I had to get in the mode. I’ve given it my all; we’ll see what happens.” Lampard, who was once sacked by Everton earlier in the season, promised to take some time off from football before making any future plans.

Chelsea finished the campaign with 44 points, their lowest tally since the 1987-88 season, when they were relegated. Despite a few positive results, Lampard’s overall performance as the club’s interim manager could not save them from their disappointing finish.
