Seun Kuti Accuses Tunde Ednut of Trying to Get Him Jailed Over Unpaid Debt

Seun Kuti, the son of the legendary Fela Anikulapo Kuti, has accused popular blogger, Tunde Ednut, of actively pushing for his imprisonment over an unpaid debt.

Kuti was recently arrested and detained by the Lagos State Police for physically assaulting an officer. During an Instagram live session on Tuesday, he stated that Ednut, who is reportedly indebted to him for nine unpaid blog posts, was attempting to use his influence to have him jailed.

According to Kuti, Ednut owed him for ten blog posts, but had only delivered on one in two years. When Kuti reminded him of the outstanding obligation, Ednut purportedly offered to complete all outstanding posts but then did not follow through. The amount owed has now increased to cover twenty posts, Kuti stated.

The musician noted that Ednut was the only blogger he spoke to in Nigeria. However, he alleges that Ednut was leveraging his position to inflict harm on Kuti because he could not repay the debt. Kuti performed at the World Bank’s recent launch of their Human Capital Plan in Bali, Indonesia.
