Mama Uka, a renowned Nigerian skit maker whose real name is Eze Sunday Odinaka, narrowly survived a life-threatening ordeal on Wednesday, August 11.

Reportedly, the Plaster of Paris (PoP) ceiling of Mama Uka’s house in Lekki, Lagos State, collapsed on him while he was lying in bed, causing serious injuries around his head and leaving him unable to stand.

The comedian subsequently shared a distressing video of the incident on his Facebook page, much to the concern of his fans and well-wishers.

However, Facebook’s policies on suicide and self-harm require articles and videos concerning such incidents to be handled delicately, with information that may trigger readers’ negative emotions removed or moderated to prevent copycats incidents.

Therefore, Media Talk Africa cannot include the unedited video here, but it can be found on Mama Uka’s Facebook page.

Mama Uka’s situation has prompted reactions from several users on social media, who have extended their sympathies and prayers to the skit maker.

Although Mama Uka’s current health status is not yet known, it is hoped that he will recover soon and return to making his hilarious skits that have endeared him to millions of Nigerians all over the world.
