The Governor of Zamfara State, Dauda Lawal, has condemned the recent unprovoked attacks on Sakiddar Magaji and Janbako communities in Maradun Local Government Area of the state by bandits. In a statement released on Sunday by his media aide, Mustafa Jafaru-Kaura, the governor described the attacks as barbaric and an aggressive act against innocent people.
According to the governor, the attacks came at a time when the state government is re-strategizing on how to put an end to the protracted insecurity in the state. He emphasized that his administration would not fold its arms and watch criminal elements unleash terror on citizens without consequences.
In his condolence message, the governor commiserated with families of those who lost their loved ones to the dastardly act of the bandits and also sympathized with those who sustained injuries during the attack. He prayed to God to grant the deceased peaceful repose.
Furthermore, Governor Lawal has directed security agencies in the state to deploy more personnel to the affected communities to prevent further destruction of lives and properties.
