Controversial Nigerian hip-hop artiste, Speed Darlington, whose real name is Darlington Okoye, has given his reasons why he can’t settle down with just one wife. According to the United States-based rapper, men face a lot of temptations when they are in a relationship with just one woman.
Speaking on the latest episode of The Honest Bunch podcast co-hosted by actor, Nedu, Husband Material and Deity Cole, the musician said he hopes his partner would be open to polygamy, as he believes that monogamy is not in line with African culture.
Speed Darlington stated, โMen are not supposed to be with one woman. Thereโs so much temptation with one. The temptation is great. We feel like we’re smarter than other animals; we wear clothes, we invent things to make our lives easy. So, we automatically believe that we are sharper. We are forcing ourselves into this principle of one woman.โ
He further pointed out that African and black races are not monogamous in nature. Hence, he hopes his potential partner would understand and accept his preference for polygamy.
