The Speaker of Nigeria’s House of Representatives, Hon. Tajudeen Abbas, has expressed deep sorrow and grief over the tragic boat mishap in Kwara State, Nigeria, which led to the loss of lives of 104 individuals.
Speaker Abbas conveyed his immense pain and regret that over 100 compatriots lost their lives in this unfortunate incident that occurred in the Patigi Local Government area of Kwara State.

Describing the news of the mishap as devastating and heartbreaking, Hon. Abbas emphasized the urgent need to prevent such incidents in order to safeguard the lives of Nigerians.
“My heart bleeds. I was pained and devastated upon hearing about the boat mishap in Kwara. The lives of 104 Nigerians were precious, and yet we lost them in one fell swoop. This incident is one too many. We must take all necessary actions to prevent the recurrence of such incidents. My thoughts and prayers go out to the families who lost their loved ones during this tragedy,” Speaker Abbas expressed.
The Speaker extended his sincere condolences to the people and the Government of Kwara State, acknowledging the profound sorrow caused by the loss of lives.
He also offered prayers for the repose of the souls of the victims and wished a swift recovery for those who were injured in the mishap.
