In a shocking revelation, popular comedienne Anita Alaire Afoke Asuoha, known as Real Warri Pikin, has disclosed that it was her own suicidal attempt that led her to pursue a career in comedy. Taking this step was primarily fueled by her desire to inspire and uplift others who may be facing similar challenges.
Real Warri Pikin’s darkest moments occurred between 2017 and 2018 when she found herself contemplating suicide due to the overwhelming debt she and her husband, Ikechukwu, were burdened with. However, the resilient comedienne shared during an interview with media personality Chude Jideonwo that embarking on a career in comedy helped her navigate the traumatic period and gradually heal.
She recalled, “During that time, the videos I made were not solely meant for entertainment but rather to motivate people. I wanted to let them know that even if they were in debt, as the Federal government also owed debts, suicide should never be an option. Take things one step at a time. Challenges might arise.”
Real Warri Pikin saw her comedy videos as a platform to encourage others even though she was still grappling with her own unpaid debts. She reminded herself of this as she recorded emotional moments, saying, “Maybe God allowed me to go through what I went through because he wanted me to be here, helping others.”
The comedienne’s powerful messages resonated with audiences, and she soon began receiving testimonials from individuals who declared that her motivation talks had prevented them from taking their lives.
