National Hajj Commission Concludes Airlift Before Deadline

The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria, NAHCON has reiterated its commitment to airlifting of all intending pilgrims to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia from the official deadline.

Sheik Suleiman Imonikhe Momoh the Commissioner of Planning, Research, and Statistics at the National Hajj Commission, stated this during a media briefing at the commission’s Headquarters in Abuja Nigeria’s Capital.

Sheik Mohmoh further highlighted the significant achievements of the commission on the airlift of pilgrims to Saudi Arabia since the commencement of the hajj operations from Nigeria to the holy land.

He said; “Over 67,000 out of the 73,000 intending pilgrims have so far been airlifted from Nigeria to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia with the last batch before the 24th of June.

“The remaining 6000 intending pilgrims will be airlifted before the official closure of the Saudi airport which is the 24th of June,” Sheik Momoh

He also noted that “the commission has made adequate provisions for security, medical care, and other essential services for the pilgrims during their stay in Saudi Arabia.”

Sheikh Momoh further emphasised that the commission has been working tirelessly to ensure that all pilgrims have a smooth and stress-free travel experience.

He said that the commission has established several communication channels through which the pilgrims can reach out to the commission for assistance.

The Commissioner lauded the cooperation and support received from the Saudi Arabian authorities, which, he said, “has been a major factor in the success of the airlift operation.”

Sheikh Momoh however assured the public that the commission would continue to work towards improving its services for future pilgrimages.
