In a heartbreaking announcement, the Nigerian entertainment industry mourns the loss of iconic Yoruba actress, Sidikat Odunkanwi, popularly known as Iyabo Oko. The news of her demise was shared on a Facebook page on Thursday by one of the actress’s daughters, Bisi Aisha. According to the post, Iyabo Oko passed away on Wednesday.
The announcement read, “May your soul Rest In Peace, Mummy.”
Actress Iyabo Ojo also expressed her grief and shared pictures of the deceased on her Facebook page. She captioned the images with the words, “Nollywood mourns. Veteran actress Iyabo Oko is dead.”
At 61 years old, Iyabo Oko had been grappling with various health challenges, which compelled her to take a prolonged break from the bustling movie scene.
