Don’t run away from your kinsmen – Oyo Senator tells Nigerians

A member of the National Assembly, Senator Sharafadeen Abiodun Alli, has suggested philanthropists throughout the nation to not run away from their kinsmen.

Alli, who represents Oyo South Senatorial District on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), made this disclosure whereas talking throughout the sixtieth anniversary lecture of Igboora High School, in Igboora city in Oyo State on Thursday.

Alli, whereas addressing the viewers, charged them “to invest more on self development and community service.”

Alli stated, “The school was founded in 1963 through the efforts of community leaders and other Indigenes. There is a need for Nigerians to contribute their quota to the development of their respective communities.

“No society would develop without strong commitment, dedication and contributions from the citizenry”.

Former Chairman of Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), Professor Adeolu Akande, in his lecture titled ‘Community Service and Human Development’ stated that there was hope of a extra rewarding future when dad and mom invested of their kids.

Akande, who was represented by Kunle Ajisebiyawo, stated, “There is hope for a better future with every investment on our children. Education is the solution to poverty, insecurity, environmental degradation and community development.”
