Police withdraw officers attached to Buhari’s Wife, brother, others

The Nigerian Police Force, NPF, has announced the withdrawal of the Police Mobile Force, PMF, personnel previously attached to well-known individuals, including Mrs Aisha Buhari, wife of former President Muhammadu Buhari, and his brother, Mallam Mamman Daura.

Also affected by the withdrawal include the former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha and a former Senate President, Iyorchia Ayu.

Channels Television reports that the order for the withdrawal was contained in a Police Wireless Message it obtained on Monday.

Authorities said the move was part of the NPF’s ongoing reassessment and reorganization of security details.

It aims to optimize the deployment of police personnel and ensure the effective use of resources in line with prevailing security challenges in the country.

The statement further noted that the withdrawal of personnel from the named high-profile individuals does not portray any specific threat or security breach.
