EPL: Jorginho reveals what he told Havertz before he switched from Chelsea to Arsenal

Arsenal midfielder Jorginho has revealed how he convinced Kai Havertz to dump Stamford Bridge for the Gunners this summer.

Havertz moved to north London this summer, ending his three-year spell with the Blues by completing a surprise move to Arsenal last month in a deal worth £65 million.

The Germany international was linked with a move back to the Bundesliga before Mikel Arteta’s side expressed interest in signing the 24-year-old.

Jorginho said he quickly contacted his former teammate when he heard about the rumours.

Jorginho spent five years at Chelsea before joining Arsenal in January.

Jorginho told The Arsenal Tour Diary, “It’s very nice. When I heard there was a possibility, I called him straight away. I said, ‘Is this true?’ He said, ‘Yeah, it’s possible’. I was like, ‘You need to come!’

“I just wanted the best for everyone. Everyone wins. He wins because it’s a good project for him, and it’s going to be amazing for the club and the team as well. So it was a win-win.”
