2023 WWC: Waldrum hails Nnadozie heroics in Super Falcons’ draw against Canada

Super Falcons head coach Randy Waldrum has singled out Chiamaka Nnadozie for praises following the team’s impressive performance against Canada.

The nine-time African champions held Brev Priestman’s side to a 0-0 draw in their opening fixture at the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup on Friday morning.

Nnadozie produced a moment of magic as she denied Christine Sinclair from the spot in the 50th minute.

The Paris FC star was also awarded the best player after the match.

An excited Waldrum heaped plaudits on the goalkeeper after the thrilling contest.

“Chiamaka has done this before and I will say this and I will embarrass her in front of you all, but I think she’s one of the best young goalkeepers in the world right now.” Waldrum was quoted by FIFA.com.

Up next for the Super Falcons is a clash against co-hosts Australia at the Brisbane Stadium next Thursday.
