Yoruba Nation agitator Sunday Igboho loses mother

The embattled Yoruba Nation agitator Sunday Adeyemo, widely known as Sunday Igboho, has lost his mother.

Olayomi Koiki, Igboho’s spokesperson in a tweet announced that Mrs Adeyemo died on Saturday evening.

Confirming her demise in a post on his Instagram page, Igboho said: “My heart is heavy. I’m left alone in this complicated world. Mama mi, who would I turn to? It’s hard for me to say goodbye.

“The cold hands of death took you. It wriggles out from its dark depths and snatched you away. This is too much for me to bear.”

Media Talk Africa recalls that Igboho was arrested by Interpol in July 2021, at Cadjèhoun Airport in Cotonou, Benin Republic, after he was declared wanted by Department of State Services, DSS for allegedly stockpiling weapons in his Ibadan residence.

Igboho, who was released in March 2022 to get medical attention on the condition that he would not leave the West African country, has remained confined within Cotonou, the Benin Republic capital.
