Governor Yahaya Inaugurates Visitation Panels To Gombe Tertiary Institutions

Governor Inuwa Yahaya has inaugurated visitation panels to the Gombe State institutions of higher learning to assess their condition and recommend ways for improvement.

Governor Yahaya said during the inauguration that the move was borne out of the desire to ensure efficient and transparent management of the tertiary institutions, foster accountability and improve access to higher education in the State.

He charged members of the visitation panels to conduct a thorough and impartial assessment of the institutions, assess their degree of compliance with existing regulations, look into staff welfare and financial discipline.

While calling on the management of the institutions to give the panels necessary support and cooperation, the governor encouraged members and leadership of the panels on transparency, integrity and fairness in the course of their assignment.

The institutions to be visited are Gombe State University Gombe; Gombe State Polytechnic, Bajoga; Gombe State College of Education, Billiri; Gombe State College of Education and Legal Studies, Nafada and Gombe State College of Health Science and Technology Kaltungo.

The panels are expected to complete their assignment and report in two months for further action.

In a vote of thanks on behalf of the members and leadership of the panel, Barrister Achana Gayus appreciated Governor Inuwa Yahaya for finding them worthy to serve.

He assured the governor of their unwavering commitment to diligently discharge their duties.

The Secretary to the State Government, Professor Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi said members of the panels, who are people of proven integrity and academic standing, were carefully chosen given their respective backgrounds and capacity to deliver.
