Davido reacts as Elon Musk begins paying X influencers

By Rabi Umar

A renowned Nigerian musician, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has reacted to the news by the owner of the microblogging platform, X, that the platform had commenced payment to its influencers.

Recall that on Tuesday, Mr Musk announced that X, formerly known as Twitter, would start to pay content creators for the advertisements displayed in their replies, with an initial payment pool of $5 million.

“Note, the creator must be verified and only ads served to verified users count,” Mr Musk said in a tweet.

Nigerian content creators had claimed to have started receiving credit alerts from the microblogging platform.

Reacting to the development, the celebrity singer took to his X handle, asking Mr Musk about the payment procedures.

His tweet reads: “Where them Dey put the money @elonmusk.”

Mr Davido’s tweet suggested that the news came to him as a surprise, especially as he is an influencer but did not or has not started receiving anything from the platform.
