NEPC Unveils Scheme for Nigerian Youths to Boost Export Earnings

The Nigerian Export Promotion Council (NEPC) has introduced a groundbreaking scheme aimed at enhancing the participation of youths in the exportation industry, thereby boosting the nation’s economic earnings.

Ezra Yakusak, the esteemed Executive Director of NEPC, made this notable announcement on Wednesday during the inauguration of the Youth For Export Programme (YEP) in the bustling city of Abuja.

The theme of the program is “Promoting Youth Inclusiveness in Non-oil Export: A Catalyst for Sustainable Economic Growth.”

In his address, Yakusak pointed out that the youth demographic accounts for a significant 60% of Nigeria’s population, emphasizing their pivotal role as catalysts for economic growth and development.

He further emphasized the urgent need for Nigeria to effectively harness the talents and skills of its burgeoning youth population, as this would greatly contribute to the country’s socio-economic progress.

“The future of Nigeria hinges upon our ability to invest in human capital development and create sustainable economic opportunities for the younger generation,” Yakusak stated emphatically.

He added, “The export value-chain holds tremendous untapped potential, offering quick wins for youths to seize.”

In a show of support for the initiative, Brig.-Gen. Yusha’u Ahmed, the Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), commended NEPC and expressed his heartfelt prayers for the success of the Youth For Export Programme.
