Festus Keyamo Expresses Gratitude to Tinubu for Appointing Him as Aviation Minister

The newly appointed Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, has expressed his gratitude to President Bola Tinubu for assigning him to the ministry. Keyamo, who previously served as the Minister of Labour and Employment under former President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration, made a promise not to disappoint Tinubu.

Taking to Twitter, Keyamo wrote, “Thank you, Mr. President. On my honor, I promise not to disappoint.”

During Keyamo’s screening process in the Senate, there was an uproar, leading to an executive session. Senator Darlinghton Nwokocha, representing Abia Central Senatorial District, raised a point of order and highlighted how Keyamo had blocked the House of Representatives Committee from conducting its oversight function on the sum of N52 billion allocated to his ministry.

Following this revelation, Nwokocha proposed that Keyamo’s screening be postponed in accordance with parliamentary rules. However, Keyamo later apologized to the Senate for his actions.
