Tinubu Tipped as Potential Minister of Petroleum Resources by Buhari’s Ex-Aide

In a surprising revelation, Bashir Ahmad, former communication aide to President Muhammadu Buhari, has hinted at Bola Tinubu’s potential appointment as the Minister of Petroleum Resources. This announcement comes as Tinubu follows in the footsteps of former Presidents Olusegun Obasanjo and Muhammadu Buhari, who both assumed the position during their tenures.

Ahmad took to Twitter to share this development, stating, “President Bola Tinubu is our potential Minister of Petroleum Resources. He will be following in the footsteps of former Presidents Olusegun Obasanjo and Muhammadu Buhari, who occupied the post during their tenures. This time there are two junior ministers under the Ministry, a Minister of State for Petroleum and a Minister of State for Gas Resources.”

Prior to this revelation, it was reported that Tinubu had not yet named a Minister of Petroleum Resources as he assigned ministerial portfolios. During his own administration, President Buhari had taken on the responsibility of the ministry himself and appointed Timipre Sylva as the Minister of State for Petroleum. However, in a departure from this approach, President Tinubu has split the ministry into two separate entities in his newly formed cabinet.
