Russian Defence Ministry Claims Repelling Another Ukrainian Drone Attack on Moscow

The Russian army announced on Monday morning that it had thwarted yet another drone attack from Ukraine on the capital city of Moscow. The drone, aiming to approach Moscow, was intercepted over the Istra District in the western part of the city, as stated by the Defence Ministry.

Mayor Sergei Sobyanin conveyed on Telegram, “The anti-aircraft defence successfully shot down the drone during its attempted approach to Moscow, resulting in no damage or casualties.”

A separate drone was also brought down through electronic jamming in the Rusa District, located west of Moscow, according to military sources.

Due to the potential airspace threat, Vnukovo and Domodedovo airports, located to the south of Moscow, temporarily closed their airspace, as reported by Russian agencies.

In recent weeks, Ukraine has repeatedly flown drones over Moscow as part of its resistance against the Russian invasion. Some of these drones have achieved the feat of striking skyscrapers in the contemporary business hub of Moskva-City.
