Africa On Sep 6, 2023 African leaders have issued a declaration proposing new taxes across the world to fund action against climate change. The Nairobi Declaration was issued at the end of the three-day Africa Climate Summit in the Kenyan capital. The heads of state say the declaration will form the basis of their negotiating position at November’s COP28 summit in Dubai. Researchers say that despite suffering from some of the worst impacts of climate change, the continent only receives about 12% of the financing it needs. BBC/Jide Johnson.
