We have dislodged remnant of terrorists in Northeast – Nigerian Air Force

The Nigerian Air Force, NAF, says it has dislodged the remnant of terrorists in the Northeast.

Director of Public Relations and Information of the NAF, Air Commodore Edward Gabkwet, disclosed in a statement on Tuesday that the terrorists were dislodged by the Air Component of Operation Hadin Kai.

According to Gabkwet, the development followed marching orders issued to the troops by the Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Hasan Abubakar.

The statement explained that an early morning air strike was conducted by the Air Component of Operation Hadin Kai at Suwa in Kala Balge Local Government Area (LGA) of Borno State, to clear the remnant of terrorists, insurgents and other criminals operating in the area.

According to Gabkwet, intelligence reports revealed that terrorists had converged in the area ahead of plans to attack troops on patrol along major routes to Bama and Mafa local government areas.

“Further intelligence also revealed that the same group of terrorists had perfected plans to attack troops stationed around Rann in Kalabalge LGA,” he added.

The NAF spokesman said the air strikes neutralised several terrorists and destroyed bandits’ structures.

The statement equally urged Air Component Commanders in all joint operating theatres to sustain the momentum.
