Collaboration among security agencies has brought ‘relative peace’ to Benue – Alia

Benue State governor, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia, says collaboration among security agencies has brought ‘relative peace’ to the state.

The governor, who spoke during the graduation ceremony of Course 9/2023 of the Air War College, at the Nigerian Air Force Base, Makurdi, assured the security agencies of the support of the state government.

Alia noted that the presence of the armed forces in the state, and their continuous engagement in significant events, will create confidence and hope for the people, enabling them to sleep with their eyes closed.

He equally thanked the Federal Government and the Nigerian Armed Forces for supporting Benue State, which, according to him, remains the most hospitable in the country.

While congratulating the graduands, the governor charged them to continue to be good ambassadors as they serve their fatherland.

Earlier in his address, the Minister of Defence, Mohammed Abubakar, represented by the Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa, commended the Nigerian Armed Forces for constantly repositioning itself with a strong focus on human capital development.

Abubakar said the War College will enhance critical thinking in the Nigerian Air Force, while also providing proactiveness in military decision making processes.

He thanked the governor for making time out of his busy schedule to attend the graduation ceremony.

Noting that the Benue governor has demonstrated willingness to collaborate with the Nigerian Armed Forces, the minister assured that the military will give him the needed support to ensure that peace is restored in the state.
