An Islamic scholar, Sheikh Ibrahim Bauchi, has attributed the current challenges facing Nigeria to divine trials from God. He urged Nigerians to refrain from blaming their leaders for the nation’s problems.

The scholar, who is also the eldest son of Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi, made these remarks during a news conference held to announce plans for the upcoming 2023 Sept. 26 Maulud celebration in Bauchi.

According to Sheikh Ibrahim Bauchi, there is no point in faulting leaders or individuals for the daunting challenges the country is presently facing.

“We all have a responsibility to assess our own actions. Hardships or any difficult situation we find ourselves in are tests from Almighty Allah,” he explained.

He further stated, “At this time, Nigerians need to turn back to Allah, and I am confident that things will take a positive turn.”

Patience and prayers are what Sheikh Ibrahim Bauchi believes is required during these trying times. He emphasized the need for individuals to play their part in bringing about positive change through lawful methods.

Moreover, he called on religious leaders to refrain from making careless remarks that could incite violence or threaten peaceful coexistence in the country.

Sheikh Ibrahim Bauchi emphasized, “Verbal attacks against one another are primarily what breeds hatred and animosity amongst religious leaders.”

He appealed to Islamic scholars to avoid casting aspersions on others during their sermons. In particular, he discouraged the habit of criticizing or cursing leaders, including esteemed Islamic scholars like Shehu Tijjani, Sheikh Ibrahim, Shehu Abdulkadir, and Shehu Dan Fodiyo.

“These are among the revered servants of Allah who have significantly contributed to the growth of Islam,” he acknowledged.
