APC Begins Sale of Forms for Borno LG Polls

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Borno State has officially commenced the sales of Nomination and Expression of Interest Forms for the upcoming local government election in January 2024. The forms are available for interested party members who wish to contest for chairmanship and councillorship positions.

The State Publicity Secretary, Malam Makinta Zarami, issued a statement announcing that the sales of forms began on September 20 and will conclude on September 28. Zarami emphasized that there will be no extension of the deadline, urging interested individuals to obtain the forms within the stipulated time.

It is worth noting that the Borno State Independent Electoral Commission (BOSIEC) had previously released a timetable for the council election on August 2. According to the timetable, political parties are required to submit a list of nominated candidates on October 16 for screening. The final display of cleared candidates will take place on November 19.

Official election campaign activities by the participating political parties are scheduled to commence on November 28 and will run until January 18, 2024. The highly anticipated election is slated to take place on January 20.
