Governor Sule Expresses Regret over Nasarawa United’s Relegation from NPFL

The Governor of Nasarawa State, Abdullahi Sule, has expressed his disappointment over the relegation of Nasarawa United from the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) last season. This unfortunate outcome was attributed to the team playing their home matches at a neutral venue.

Currently, the Lafia City Stadium, which serves as the home ground for Nasarawa United, is undergoing renovation.

Governor Sule made these remarks during a courtesy visit to the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) House in Abuja. He took the opportunity to assure fans and stakeholders that Nasarawa United will secure promotion back to the NPFL.

“The stadium’s renovation played a significant role in Nasarawa United’s relegation last season,” Governor Sule stated during his visit. “I am determined to ensure that their stay in the lower league is a short one.

“Nasarawa United belongs in the NPFL, not in the Nigeria National League.”
