Corps Commander Urges Troops to Maintain Discipline and Professionalism

The Corps Commander Artillery (CCA), Major General Markus Kangye, has called on troops of the 35 Artillery Brigade to uphold the rule of law, remain loyal, and uphold the principles of military discipline and professionalism.

During his visit to the Headquarters of the 35 Artillery Brigade at Alamala Barracks in Abeokuta, Ogun State, on Saturday, September 23, 2023, Major General Kangye emphasized the importance of discipline for artillery operations.

He highlighted the commitment of the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja, to the welfare of troops, citing the proposed affordable housing scheme for soldiers as an example. This initiative aims to boost morale and ensure the highest level of fighting efficiency in all Nigerian Army operations, with the ultimate goal of eliminating criminal elements from the country.

Major General Kangye urged the troops to avoid engaging in unprofessional behavior and fraternizing with unauthorized persons, especially during operations. Instead, he encouraged them to align with the command philosophy of the Chief of Army Staff, which is to transform the Nigerian Army into a well-trained, well-equipped, and highly motivated force capable of fulfilling its constitutional responsibilities in collaboration with other forces.

Furthermore, Major General Kangye stressed the importance of active participation in training activities to enhance professionalism among the troops.
