Nigerian Army handover Projects to Benefiting community

Nokai Origin, Abuja

The Chief of Army Staff(COAS) Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja said that Civil-Military Coordination Projects are meant to complement already existing basic services, amenities and infrastructure in the communities.

He stated this at the commissioning and official handover ceremony of a newly built block of 4 Classrooms, one Staff room, the Installation of a Borehole, provision of 60 chairs and tables for students and staff of Ikare Grammar School, Ikare, Akoko LGA Ondo State.

The projects were executed by the Nigerian Army through an illustrious son of the community, Major General Lukman Omoniyi.

The COAS, who was represented by the General Officer Commanding (GOC) 2 Division Nigerian Army, Major General Bamidele Alabi, stated that the Nigerian Army embarked on these projects with the sole aim of providing succor to the people in areas of need. This he said is to further strengthen relationships in these communities as well as provide support to serving senior army officers and the Nigerian Army at large.

The facilitator and project executor, Major General Lukman Omoniyi appreciated the COAS for the benefit from the laudable idea and urged the beneficiaries to make good use of the projects. He admonished them to ensure proper maintenance so as to serve the purpose it was built in the first place.

Major General Lukman Omoniyi is an alumnus of the school. In attendance at the occasion were the Chief of Civil Military Coordination Army Maj Gen NC Ugbo, Head of Service Ondo State, Commissioner of Education Ondo State, Royal fathers as well as students of the school.
