Directorate Begins Youth Transformation Training In Kogi State

The National Directorate of Employment, NDE, has kick-started the second phase of the Youth Transformation Training Scheme in Technical and Vocational Skills, YTTST&VS, for 32 unemployed persons in Kogi State.

The training is in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu led administration in Nigeria.

Speaking during the flag off/ orientation ceremony held in Lokoja, the Kogi State Capital, the Director General of NDE,  Abubakar Fikpo said that the NDE remained resolute in tackling the menace of unemployment.

Fikpo said “job creation, economic growth and ending poverty forms part of the 8-Point agenda to turn around the economy and make life comfortable for all Nigerians.”

Fikpo was represented at the occasion by the Deputy Director, Vocational Skills Development (VSD) Department, Mr. Offia Obinna.

The State Coordinator NDE Kogi State, Mr. Ibidun Amos charged prospective participants to take full advantage of the Scheme as it is designed to enable them become self-reliant, earn a living and contribute their quotas to the socio-economic transformation of Nigeria.

On his part, the Head of Vocational Skills Development Department in NDE Kogi State, Adam Abubakar urged participants ensure  effective utilisation of the rare opportunity provided by the Nigeria Government.

Ms Khadijat Oyiza who spoke on behalf of other participants commended NDE for the unrelenting efforts in fighting poverty and unemployment.

She promised to strive harder to ensure that they make government proud at the end of the programme.
