The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has issued a stern warning to school principals in the Southeast region of Nigeria, cautioning them against mobilizing their students for the upcoming Independence Day celebrations on October 1st.
Emma Powerful, the spokesman for IPOB, stated that any school principal who disregards this warning and proceeds to mobilize their students for the October 1st celebration will bear the consequences of their actions.
In a press release, Powerful further urged market traders to continue with their daily businesses without partaking in the festivities associated with Nigeria’s Independence Day.
He emphasized that the desired independence of Biafra will soon be realized and joyously celebrated across the Southeast region.
In Powerful’s words: “No school principal or head should mobilize Biafran children to celebrate the evil Nigeria Independence on October 1st, or they will have themselves to blame.
“On October 1st, 2023, every Biafran is expected to stay at home, relax, or engage in their regular activities. No Nigerian flags are to be flown in Biafra territory. If you choose to go to the market or conduct business on that day, you are free to do so without any form of harassment, as long as it does not involve the Nigeria Independence celebration.”
Powerful also made it clear that IPOB is an organization born out of necessity to achieve the independence of Biafra, and they will stop at nothing to pursue this goal through diplomatic means and a referendum. The independence of Biafra from Nigeria is seen as essential for survival, and hence, it is expected that every Biafran fully supports this cause.
“The day of our cherished Biafra Independence is rapidly approaching, and no force can impede it. Biafrans and supporters of Biafra around the world will bear witness to this momentous occasion and join us in celebration.”
