The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) in Nigeria, Barr Nyesom Wike, has reassured residents of the FCT that President Bola Tinubu is committed to making Nigeria work for everyone.

During the inauguration of Mr. Ibrahim Aminu as the Mandate Secretary, Social Development Secretariat of the FCT Administration in Abuja on Friday, the minister emphasized that President Tinubu’s renewed hope agenda is aimed at restoring lost hope and demonstrating that things can still work in Nigeria.

“Nigerians are tired of hearing excuses every day,” Wike stated. “That is why we will do everything we can to assure FCT residents that things will change, and in fact, they are already changing.”

Working Together for Success

Wike addressed the newly inaugurated mandate secretary, emphasizing that his role would involve serving Nigerians and not just Katsina state. He described the FCT as a unique city where every Nigerian feels at home, stating, “So our services are for Nigerians.”

Wike expressed confidence in the mandate secretary’s track record, urging him to put in his best effort. He emphasized the importance of teamwork, stating, “It is teamwork that will lead to excellence.”

“The Minister of State for FCT, Dr. Mariya Mahmoud, and I, will provide you with all the cooperation you need to succeed,” Wike assured. However, he made it clear that the mandate secretary would be held accountable for the successes and failures of his role.

Recognition and Previous Inaugurations

Wike commended Mr. Aminu Masari, the former Speaker of the House of Representatives and former Governor of Katsina state, for attending the inauguration event.

This recent inauguration follows the one held on September 12, where seven other mandate secretaries were inaugurated.
