Croatian footballer Ana Maria Markovic has offered her opinion on the highly debated topic of who should be regarded as the greatest of all time (GOAT) between Argentina’s Lionel Messi and Portugal’s Cristiano Ronaldo.
Markovic, who currently represents Swiss Women’s Super League club Grasshopper, expressed her preference for Ronaldo over Messi.
In response to a fan question on X (formerly Twitter), the 23-year-old forward stated, “For me, Cristiano is the best. I respect everyone’s opinion.”
With a playful wink emoji, she added, “But mine is right.”
Both Messi and Ronaldo are widely considered as the best footballers in history.
Together, they have accumulated a total of twelve Ballon d’Or awards.
Currently, Messi plays for Inter Miami in the United States, while Ronaldo is a part of Al-Nassr in Saudi Arabia.
