Former Kaduna State Governor Ramalan Yero Resigns from PDP

Ramalan Yero, the former governor of Kaduna State, has officially resigned his membership from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). In a letter addressed to the party’s state leadership on Saturday, Mr Yero expressed his gratitude to Almighty Allah and announced his decision to leave the PDP.

In the letter, Mr Yero stated, “With gratitude to Almighty Allah, I write to extend my sincere greetings and to formally inform you of my decision to leave the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).”

Furthermore, he added, “In view of this, I hereby tender my resignation as a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) with effect from September 30. Enclosed herewith is my membership card duly returned.”

Mr Yero assumed the position of governor of Kaduna State in 2012 after the unfortunate demise of Patrick Yakowa in a helicopter crash. However, his tenure ended in 2015 when he lost the reelection bid to Nasir El-Rufai, the current governor of the state.

The resignation of Ramalan Yero marks another significant development within the political landscape of Kaduna State. The departure of a former governor from the PDP may have implications for the party’s strength and influence in the region.

Stay tuned for further updates on the ramifications of this unexpected resignation.
