The renowned leader of the INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele, has shared his perspective on Nigeria’s 63rd anniversary of independence, highlighting that the nation is still trapped in a state of bondage due to prevailing challenges.

Primate Ayodele lamented the ongoing economic hardships, insecurity, and the inability of citizens to access basic amenities, all of which impede the people from truly experiencing the dividends of democracy and independence.

In an official statement released by his media aide, Osho Oluwatosin, Primate Ayodele emphasized that the country has very little to showcase for its 63 years of independence, attributing this to the failure of its leaders.

Ayodele stated, “Our leaders must turn to God. Ruling without true leadership in Nigeria will lead to calamity. This government must prioritize job creation and economic improvement to ensure the welfare of our people amidst the overwhelming hardships.”

Continuing his discourse, Primate Ayodele highlighted the four crucial aspects that define the significance of any government, namely security, economy, international relations, and natural resources. He cautioned that the current government risks failure if it does not take necessary steps to address these fundamental areas.

“This government should focus on tangible actions rather than empty promises. Nigerians need to feel the true impact of democracy and celebrate their independence with genuine freedom from the shackles of poverty, insecurity, and lack of opportunities,” noted Ayodele.

He further stressed the need for spiritual intervention, stating that Nigeria’s very foundation is fragile and requires prayerful attention. Refuting the notion that Nigeria is the giant of Africa, Ayodele pointed out that smaller African nations enjoy uninterrupted 24-hour electricity supply, exposing the deficiency in Nigeria’s development.
