President Tinubu Congratulates Speaker Abbas on His 60th Birthday

Nigeria’s President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, sends warm wishes to the Speaker of the House of Representatives in the 10th National Assembly, Rt. Hon. Tajudeen Abbas, on the occasion of his 60th birthday, coinciding with Nigeria’s Independence Day.

The President’s message of congratulations was conveyed in a statement issued by his Spokesperson, Chief Ajuri Ngelale.

President Tinubu joins Nigerians and well-wishers worldwide in celebrating the Prince of Zazzau Emirate on this special day.

The President commends the Speaker for his significant accomplishments, highlighting his unparalleled record of sponsoring bills during his tenure in the 8th Assembly from 2015 to 2019.

In the 9th Assembly from 2019 to 2023, the Speaker broke records by introducing an impressive total of 74 bills, with 21 of them successfully signed into law.

The Nigerian leader acknowledges the Speaker’s invaluable service in various House Committees, including Commerce, Finance, Special Duties, Defence, and Public Procurement. His election as the House Speaker was a resounding victory, garnering the greatest winning coalition vote in the history of Nigerian Speakership elections, with an overwhelming majority of 353 votes out of 359 cast.

President Tinubu offers prayers for Speaker Abbas, asking that God Almighty continue to grant him greater wisdom and strength to successfully uphold the noble legacy of stable and productive leadership in the House of Representatives, in line with the Renewed Hope agenda of the All Progressives Congress Party.
