In a candid statement during the interdenominational church service held in Abuja on Sunday to commemorate Nigeria’s 63rd Independence Anniversary, Senator Remi Tinubu, the esteemed first lady of Nigeria, emphasized that President Bola Tinubu should not be viewed as a magician.

Mrs. Tinubu acknowledged the challenges inherited by the current administration but highlighted her husband’s commitment to diligently addressing them, brick-by-brick, without laying blame on past administrations.

“All we inherited are the consequences of past events. Instead of assigning blame to any particular administration, we are focused on repairing and restoring what has been damaged,” Mrs. Tinubu explained.

She further elaborated, “My husband is not a magician, but he will work tirelessly to bring about positive change and harmony to our beloved country. The best is yet to come.”

Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), George Akume, also spoke at the event, urging Nigerians to exhibit patience in light of the complexities of the nation’s challenges. He emphasized that these issues cannot be resolved overnight, but assured the public that measures are being implemented to effectively address them.

“Solutions to Nigeria’s intricate problems cannot be instantaneous,” said Akume. “We acknowledge the urgency, but it will take time. Rest assured, concrete measures are being put into place.”
