The Assistant Inspector General, AIG, of Police for Zone Six, Calabar, Jonathan Towuru, has confirmed the arrest of suspected members of Supreme Vikings confraternity (SVC).
He stated a workforce led by ACP Emeka Onyekaba intercepted the cultists.
A press release signed by the zonal PRO, SP Nelson Okpabi, stated, “The ACP Emeka Onyekaba led X-Squad on the 23rd of September, 2023, at about 1530hrs, while conducting stop and search along Etinan road Akwa Ibom State, intercepted one Peter God’swill Edet ‘m’ 23 years and one Ekemini David Umoh ‘m’ 25 years all of No. 7 Peter Uboh Street, Abak road Uyo, on a motorcycle with two locally made pistols and a live cartridge.”
Okpabi stated the suspects, wearing black, have been getting back from the burial of their member ‘Aro Holy’ in Nsit Ubiom in Akwa Ibom State, after they have been apprehended.
According to the assertion, the suspects, on interrogation, confirmed that they have been members of Supreme Vikings confraternity (SVC).
The suspects have been additionally reported as having confessed additional that they got pistols by one Samuel whose different names are unknown, in order that they need to take them to Ekom Imam junction in Uyo.
The assertion added, “Discreet investigation into the case is ongoing and the suspects will be arraigned in court at the end of investigation.
