Leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kano State have concluded a four‑day strategy meeting in preparation for the 2027 general elections. Organized by former governor Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, the gathering brought together party leaders from all 44 local government areas to discuss unity and trust within the party.
The final session focused on stakeholders from the Kano North Senatorial District, including local government chairmen and caucus members, and aimed at building a strong foundation for the party ahead of the elections. Ganduje emphasized the importance of unity, stating that the meeting sought to ensure complete cohesion within the APC and reaffirm solidarity with the Federal Government under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. He noted that the delegates and executives demonstrated a strong commitment to maintaining the APC’s dominance in Kano and across Nigeria.
Party leaders also requested permission to begin public endorsements of President Tinubu as the APC’s sole presidential candidate for 2027. Ganduje directed that APC offices across all local governments and wards be reopened and fully active to improve grassroots mobilization. To enhance digital registration, the party plans to engage ICT personnel ahead of its e‑registration exercise, reminding attendees that Kano previously recorded the highest number of APC members in the country. Each local government was urged to provide three computer experts who would be trained and deployed for the digital registration.
The APC also called on officials to intensify mobilization for the ongoing voter registration by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), encouraging eligible citizens—especially new voters—to register before the elections. With the 2027 general elections approaching, the strategy meeting in Kano State aims to strengthen the party’s position and ensure a strong showing, and its outcomes are expected to have significant implications for the APC’s performance in the upcoming polls.
