NATO Demands Immediate Release of Israeli Captives by Hamas

NATO Defense Ministers have issued a strong statement urging Hamas to release all Israeli captives without delay. The alliance also affirmed Israel’s right to defend itself with proportionality in response to recent acts of terror, according to an official statement released on Thursday.

The statement clearly expressed solidarity with Israel and emphasized its right to protect itself from these unjustifiable acts. Additionally, NATO called for the immediate release of all hostages and demanded the utmost protection of civilians.

Furthermore, the alliance emphasized that no country or organization should exploit or escalate the current situation.

During a NATO defense ministers meeting, Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant revealed that the Hamas attack on October 7 was accompanied by the infiltration of thousands of fighters from the Gaza Strip into Israel. He described the attack as an assault on innocent children, women, and families.

Gallant emphasized the severity of the situation, stating, “Thousands of terrorists have crossed our southern border, simultaneously launching a barrage of missiles.” It is clear that the situation requires immediate attention and action.

The NATO statement, in agreement with Israel’s stance, echoes the international community’s call for Hamas to release the captives and cease all acts of violence. Its position highlights the importance of safeguarding civilian lives and ensuring peace in the region.
