The Federal Government Announces Closure of Third Mainland Bridge for Repairs

The Third Mainland Bridge in Lagos will be closed for repairs from midnight on Saturday, October 21st, until midnight on Sunday, October 22nd, according to the Federal Government.

Mrs. Olukorede Kesha, the Federal Controller of Works in Lagos State, stated in a press release that the government is prepared to commence comprehensive rehabilitation works on the bridge, starting with repairs of the critical sections.

Kesha informed the motoring public that the Federal Government is currently finalizing plans to carry out extensive repairs on the Third Mainland Bridge. However, in order to alleviate the current difficulties being experienced on the bridge, the Ministry will be conducting palliative works on the most severely affected areas along the Adeniji-bound carriageway on Sunday, October 22nd, in preparation for the comprehensive repair works.

She urged motorists to cooperate with the traffic management officials and follow all diversions as instructed to ensure smooth flow of traffic. Additionally, motorists are encouraged to utilize alternative routes, whenever possible, during the palliative works period as the Adeniji-bound section of the bridge will be closed to traffic from Saturday, October 21st to Sunday, October 22nd at midnight.
