Surrender or Face Annihilation – Chief of Army Staff Warns Criminals

The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja, has issued a stern warning to criminal elements in the country, stating that they will be eliminated if they refuse to surrender and lay down their arms.

General Lagbaja made this declaration on Friday during the graduation ceremony of 654 battle-ready troops who have completed ‘Exercise Restore Hope V’ at the Nigerian Army Training Centre in Kachia, Kaduna State.

Emphasizing the Army’s commitment to enhancing the combat proficiency of its soldiers, General Lagbaja highlighted the importance of continuous training in tackling the security challenges faced by the nation.

He stressed the Army’s objective to produce highly skilled and competent personnel for effective engagements in all theatres by implementing focused, adaptive, and effective training programs.

The primary objective of ‘Exercise Restore Hope V’ is to equip newly recruited soldiers with the necessary skills to effectively combat the ever-evolving nature of security threats within Nigeria.

General Lagbaja urged the graduates to demonstrate their worthiness by actively addressing the security challenges in their respective areas of deployment across the country.

Furthermore, he emphasized the significance of collaboration with sister security agencies to ensure seamless service delivery.

‘Exercise Restore Hope’ is an advanced infantry and special forces training program aimed at further enhancing the capabilities of young soldiers.

The COAS’s message serves as a clear warning to criminals that the Nigerian Army is fully prepared to eradicate all forms of criminality in the country. It underscores the Army’s dedication to maintaining peace and security and sends a strong signal that those who choose to engage in criminal activities will face dire consequences.

With the continuous commitment of the Nigerian Army and its relentless pursuit of security, the nation can look forward to a safer and more secure future.
