Nigerians Struggling with Hunger: Pastor Giwa Highlights the Disconnect from Social Media

The senior pastor of Awaiting The Second Coming Of Christ Ministries, Adewale Giwa, has shed light on the grim reality faced by Nigerians who are battling hunger, emphasizing their absence from the world of social media.

Addressing his congregation in Akure on Sunday, Pastor Giwa explained that those who endure sleepless nights due to hunger pangs are primarily found in rural areas and agricultural communities.

He remarked, “Exclude yourself from the Nigerians suffering from hunger if you can spare N5,000 for data every week.”

“When you multiply N5,000 by 4, it amounts to N20,000 every month. Are you aware that in just 5 months, you can save up to N100,000 to initiate a small business venture?” he questioned.

“Visit the remote villages, farms, and markets to witness the agonizing plight of those who are truly suffering. The impoverished Nigerians do not have a strong presence on social media,” Pastor Giwa added.

Continuing his sermon, he stated, “You spend countless hours online, sharing photos and videos, all while claiming to suffer. My friend, you are deceiving yourself.”

Highlighting the misprioritization of today’s youth, Pastor Giwa reflected, “Our youths have lost sight of what truly matters. They prefer to be glued to their screens from dawn till dusk, instead of utilizing their valuable time and money for something worthwhile.”
