However, there are notable absences in today’s proceedings. Vice President Kashim Shettima is currently representing the nation at the World Food Forum in the United States of America. Additionally, some ministers, including those of Culture, Art and Creative Economy, Hannatu Musawa, and the Minister of Tourism, Lola Ade-John, are also absent.
It is worth mentioning that last Monday, the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, made an important announcement. He stated that the council meetings will now be held on Mondays, a departure from the longstanding tradition of Wednesdays. This change aims to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the Council’s proceedings.
Furthermore, Minister Idris highlighted that the Federal Executive Council may not gather weekly but rather convene when there are pressing matters that require immediate attention and discussion. This strategic approach ensures that the Council’s time and resources are dedicated to resolving crucial matters affecting the nation.
The Federal Executive Council represents the highest decision-making body in the Nigerian government. Thus, President Tinubu’s leadership and guidance during these meetings are pivotal in shaping the national agenda and advancing the socio-economic development of our beloved country.
