In a heartbreaking incident that occurred on Saturday night, two individuals tragically lost their lives due to suffocation while clearing a diesel reservoir in Kano. The Kano State Fire Service has confirmed this unfortunate incident, highlighting the importance of safety precautions in such hazardous environments.
The Public Relations Officer of the fire service, Saminu Abdullahi, issued a statement to the press on Sunday, providing further details about the incident. According to Abdullahi, the incident took place along Katsina road by Baban Gwari roundabout in Fagge Local Government Area.
The two victims have been identified as Philip Osando, aged 40, and Philip Emmanuel, aged 35. The fire service received an emergency call from Police Inspector Abubakar Surajo at approximately 08:20 p.m on Saturday, prompting the dispatch of their rescue team to the scene at 08:27 p.m.
