Presidential Election: Atiku Alleges Tinubu’s Forgery of Certificate and Violation of Electoral Law

The 2023 presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, has leveled serious allegations against President Bola Tinubu, accusing him of breaking the law. Atiku claims that Tinubu submitted forged certificates to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), a violation that should have barred him from participating in the presidential election.

Speaking at a world press conference, Atiku emphasized that the matter extends beyond mere politics—instead, it concerns the nation’s reputation and future. He stressed the importance of setting a high standard for integrity and accountability, both for our generation and the ones to come.

Providing what he called “incontrovertible evidence,” Atiku asserts that Tinubu’s qualification to contest in the previous presidential election is questionable, as he allegedly submitted a forged certificate to INEC. Atiku believes that a thorough scrutiny of Tinubu’s past records would reveal that he broke the law and should have been disqualified from the race.

It is worth noting that Atiku has filed an appeal with the Supreme Court, challenging the judgement of the Election Petition Tribunal. He has presented evidence from the Chicago State University (CSU) to support his claim that Tinubu’s certificates are fraudulent.
