Monarch Pleads with South East Governors to Rescue Igboland from Terrorism

The traditional ruler of Obosi community in Anambra State, Igwe Chidubem Iweka, has made a heartfelt appeal to the five South East governors to come together and find a solution to the rising wave of terrorism in the region.

The South East has been plagued by various crimes including kidnappings and armed robberies, as a result of the agitations for a separate state. In an effort to address this dire situation, Igwe Iweka stressed the urgent need for the governors and other stakeholders in the Igbo community to convene a meeting to discuss strategies for combating terrorism in Igboland.

During the traditional ceremony of the Obiora festival, Igwe Iweka expressed his concerns, stating, “This imported terrorism is intentionally destabilizing Igboland. I implore Igbo stakeholders, billionaires, and intellectuals to collaborate with the state governments, traditional leaders, and community leaders to develop effective measures to rescue Igboland from the clutches of these imported terrorists and kidnappers.”

Addressing the issue of criminality, Igwe Iweka made a passionate plea to the people, saying, “We must abstain from robbery, kidnapping, cultism, drug abuse, fraud, and all other forms of criminal activities. While we acknowledge the challenges facing our nation, it should never be an excuse to engage in criminal behavior.”

Furthermore, the monarch admonished the people of Obosi to refrain from crime, reminding them that criminals always face the consequences of their actions. He urged the young men in the community to follow the footsteps of other Igbo youths who have focused on acquiring skills and engaging in legitimate business ventures to secure their future.

“It is time for our young men in Obosi to learn trades, develop skills, and actively participate in various commercial activities,” advised Eze Iweka.
