Former Adamawa State Governor Jibrilla Bindow has officially resigned from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). He cited unresolved crises within the party as the primary reason for his departure. In his resignation letter, Bindow stated that the ongoing issues within the Adamawa State Chapter of the APC compelled him to step down, thereby ending his membership in the party.

Bindow’s formal resignation letter, dated January 20, 2023, was addressed to the chairman of the APC in his Kolere ward, located in the Mubi North Local Government Area of the state. He emphasized that his decision followed “deep prayers and wide consultations with family members, stakeholders, and faithful followers both within and outside Adamawa State.”

He expressed that the unfortunate events surrounding the 2019 general election and the 2022 governorship primary were significant factors in his decision to resign. Bindow pointed out that the lack of genuine reconciliation with aggrieved stakeholders within the party since the last primary has made the APC an uncomfortable environment for him.

In closing, he expressed gratitude to the party and indicated that his loyal supporters would join him in leaving the APC. Together, they aim to promote a cause focused on building a harmonious Adamawa State that fosters unity in diversity and collective development among its people.
