Police Arrest 134 Suspected Criminals in Katsina

The Katsina State Police Command has made significant progress in maintaining law and order in the state, as they recently apprehended a total of 134 suspected criminals in the month of October. This commendable feat was revealed by the Commissioner of Police, Aliyu Abubakar-Musa, during a press conference held in Katsina on Wednesday.

According to the Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Abubakar Aliyu, the suspects were apprehended for various offenses such as armed robbery, kidnapping, cattle rustling, and culpable homicide. Additionally, individuals involved in rape, possession of illicit drugs, intimidation, incitement, and belonging to criminal gangs were also brought into custody.

Out of the 75 reported cases, an impressive 72 have been successfully charged to court, signifying the effectiveness of the police in investigating and building strong cases against these criminals. Furthermore, a total of 23 kidnapped victims were rescued during the same period.

The Commissioner of Police also highlighted the recovery of important evidence, including a pistol, six rounds of live ammunition, and a motorcycle, among other items. These recoveries not only strengthen ongoing investigations but also underscore the commitment of the police in ensuring the safety and security of the people of Katsina.

In light of these achievements, the Commissioner of Police, Aliyu Abubakar-Musa, urged the general public to continue collaborating with the police and other security agencies by providing timely and useful information that will aid in the arrest and prosecution of criminals throughout the state.

The Katsina State Police Command remains resolute in their commitment to combating crime and maintaining peace within the state. With their continued efforts and the support of the community, they are confident in their ability to create a safer and more secure environment for all residents.
