The Borno State Governor, Babagana Umara Zulum, embarked on a thorough inspection of ongoing projects in the communities of Lomani and Gajibo, located in the Dikwa and Ngala Local Government Areas (LGA). During the inspection, he assured the indigenes that these projects would be completed within a period of 5 months.

In an interview at the inspection site, Governor Zulum expressed his determination to fulfill promises made to resettle displaced communities in Borno State. He acknowledged that previous efforts had faced challenges beyond the control of the government, resulting in delays. However, he assured the people that this time, construction progress in Lomani and Gajibo was remarkable, and the communities would be resettled at the earliest possible time, enabling them to rebuild their lives.

Governor Zulum stated, “I have ordered the project managers to prioritize the completion of resettlement houses. Lomani has a deadline of 2 months, while Gajibo has 3 months to complete.”

The governor also emphasized his focus on other ongoing projects, particularly public infrastructure. He pledged to explore opportunities to create employment and stimulate economic growth in the communities.

“We will also maximize the use of the abandoned groundwater in these communities by providing water pumps for irrigation activities,” Governor Zulum added.

During his visit to Dikwa, Governor Zulum paid a courtesy visit to the Shehu of Dikwa. He urged the Emirate and its people to support the state government’s efforts and embrace irrigation farming. The governor expressed the government’s commitment to provide necessary agricultural tools to harness the potential of the community.

Furthermore, Governor Zulum called upon the people to remain vigilant, resilient, and cooperate with security personnel to foster a safer environment.
