Abia Governor Otti Promises Better Successor

Abia State Governor Alex Otti has expressed confidence that his successor in 2031 will surpass his achievements, as he has laid a solid foundation for the state’s development. Otti made this statement during a ground reception service organized in his honor by the Assemblies of God Church in Umuahia North LGA. The governor emphasized that his administration has just begun and is now focused on aggressively developing the state, having broken the curse that previously held it back.

According to Otti, the current period marks a significant time for Abia State’s development, and his administration is committed to making the most of it. He cited his belief in Psalms 62:11, which states that power belongs to God, and that His timing is everything. Otti assured that his successor will be better than him, indicating a positive trajectory for the state’s future.

During the reception, the District Superintendent of the Assemblies of God Church, Rev. Dr. Kenneth Ogbudu, praised Otti as a transformational leader who has redefined governance in Abia State. Ogbudu highlighted the governor’s achievements, including the reconstruction of abandoned roads, restoration of public infrastructure, and introduction of fiscal discipline and prudent resource management. He also commended Otti for demonstrating courage in institutional reforms and prioritizing the needs of the people.

In response to the church’s request for support, Otti announced that they would receive a Hummer bus for evangelism, courtesy of Prince Arthur Eze. He also directed his Chief of Staff to work with the church leadership to secure land for a prayer camp. The governor appreciated the church’s support for his administration and thanked them for the reception.

The event was attended by prominent figures, including the governor’s wife, Mrs. Priscilla Otti, and other government officials. The reception marked a significant moment of appreciation and recognition of Otti’s efforts to transform Abia State. As the governor continues to work towards developing the state, his confidence in the future and commitment to laying a strong foundation are likely to have a lasting impact on Abia State’s progress.
